Jack London in the Yukon

For some reason the Yukon is much more enamored with Robert Service than Jack London. Up here like most places these days he's just the guy who wrote Call of the Wild and White Fang. I did get to see the other half of his cabin though.

Mining in this area quickly evolved from small scale placer mining to large commercial operations using these huge dredges to chew up the ground and recover the gold.
