Happy birthday from Scotiabank

I went to one bank on my birthday, it turned out to be a good one. I bought $220 worth of old dollars and half dollars (not all coins are pictured here) and $135 worth of old banknotes. I got all the old bank notes on my wish list and some I never would have expected to find. The oldest bank notes are from the series of 1937 and are at least 58 years old (the 1937 series was issued until 1954).

Red Deer River test - first paddle in my new kayak

My first chance to test my kayak, on a beautiful day, putting in at Newcastle Beach in Drumheller

The Red Deer is a lazy river in this reach, not much current at all

I ended my trip at the Atlas Coal Mine about 26km away. I passed under the bridge I visited the day before.

All my photos are going to look like this from now on

I found a beautiful place to finish the paddle

Then it was time to hitch back to my car. My first ever hitching in Canada! Also my first time hitching with a boat. I had hitched with a bicycle before. I didn't have to wait long, there wasn't much traffic but the 14th car to pass stopped.
