Bow River revisited

I took another trip on the Bow River through Calgary to record the distance and test my equipment (notice the new black paddles) and seat repairs. I had wanted to do it in July when the water was high and fast but this time the conditions were almost exactly the same as in May. And I did the distance in the same time as well, 18.1 km in 2 hrs.

Floating the bow in all sorts of vessels is a popular pastime for Calgarians. They use rafts big and small, kayaks, canoes, and even floating lounges like small islands. Lots of other people were launching when I did, and I passed many more on the river.
