A close 2nd in importance to the fireworks was Canada Day birthday cake. Every since my 2009 arrival in New Brunswick on Canada Day, I've associated Canada Day with cake just as much as with fireworks.
Finding cake in Edmonton wasn't easy and they didn't look very good. This one would have looked good if they hadn't precut it before they even brought it out. This one said "Happy Birthday Canada 145 Years"
